Australian Base Camp hosts over 30 lodging options, while Forest Camp has around 7 to 8. Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek Itinerary

01 DAY

Kathmandu to Pokhara

We’ll depart from Kathmandu at 6 AM by tourist bus, heading towards Pokhara. The drive, which takes about 6 to 7 hours, will take us along rough and dusty roads offering views of rivers, hills, and mountain ranges. Upon arrival in Kande—a gateway to the trekking route—we’ll stop to rest and make final preparations for the upcoming trek. We’ll spend the night in Kande to be ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 DAY

Kande to Forest Camp

In the morning, you'll have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over the Himalayas. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off toward Forest Camp. The trail takes us through thick forest, where we can enjoy the natural surroundings, leading to Pothana. Following about 3 to 4 hours of walking, we’ll arrive at Forest Camp, our stop for the night.

03 DAY

Forest Camp to Badal Dadha

From the Forest Camp, we start hiking towards Badal Dadha and during the walk, we will come across Himalayan yaks, birds, and other wildlife. After an hour of hiking, we can see Machhapuchhre from the resting camp, where we can take photographs. We then continue walking for two to three hours to Low Camp.
From Low Camp, a two to three-hour walk leads to Badal Dadha. On a clear day, spectacular views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and other peaks are open to hikers. A good number of stars are visible over the mountain on a clear night.

04 DAY

Trek to High Camp

Leaving Badal Danda, we’ll make our way toward High Camp by traversing hilltops, with stunning views of Annapurna and Himchuli to the left and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) directly ahead. Along the trail, we may spot a variety of wildlife. The trek to High Camp takes about four hours and marks the final overnight stop on the Mardi Himal Base Camp journey. From here, we’ll enjoy a breathtaking nighttime view of Pokhara.

05 DAY

Hike to Base Camp and return back to Badal Dadha

We’ll begin our hike toward Base Camp at 3 a.m., with the initial ascent taking approximately three hours. However, reaching the Mardi Himal viewpoint requires only about two hours of walking. Situated at 4,200 meters above sea level, this spot provides stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges. We’ll have the chance to watch the sunrise from here, enjoying the landscape as it comes to life in the morning light. From the viewpoint, we’ll continue hiking down to Base Camp, a descent that takes roughly one hour. Located at 4,500 meters, the base camp offers exceptional panoramic views.
We’ll spend some time exploring the scenic surroundings from the base camp’s vantage point. After breakfast, we’ll begin our descent toward Badal Dadha.

06 DAY

Down to Sidhing

On the final day of the trek, you’ll make your way down to Sidhing, enjoying a lively and scenic descent. Along the route, you’ll pass several waterfalls, follow riverbanks, and cross rivers via bridges.
Sidhing is a picturesque village known for its vibrant local culture, and it’s where we’ll stay overnight during the Mardi trek.

07 DAY

Sidhing to Pokhara

After breakfast, we’ll set off for Pokhara by jeep, a trip that takes about three hours. Upon arrival, we’ll spend whatever time remains exploring the lakeside area.

08 DAY

Back to Kathmandu

We will return back to Kathmandu in morning by tourist bus.

Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek FAQs

Mardi Himal is located in the Annapurna region of Nepal, Kaski district near Pokhara.

Mardi Base Camp is 4500m high from sea level and the viewpoint is 4300m high.

There is no specific age limit for the Mardi Himal Trek. Anyone who is physically fit and determined can undertake the trek.

Since the trek is beginner friendly and suitable any one can do the trek.

The right time to trek Mardi Base Camp is during Autum (Sep-Nov) and spring (Mar-May).

 Yes, you need two permit to trek Mardi Himal Base Camp. One is Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and another is Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS).

To complete Mardi Trek, you need minimum 3 days but you can extend the trek up to 7 days depending on your walking speed and your comfort.

There are basic Guesthouse along the Mardi Trial for trekkers to stay all the houses are comfortable to stay with fresh meal. As we go higher, we get a sharing bathroom and the guesthouse also provide bed, blanket, WIFI, meal, and electricity.

Hiring a guide is not compulsory for Mardi Base Camp Trek, but its highly recommended, especially for beginner trekkers. If you hire a guide the guide can assist you in various ways like navigating, safety through your whole trek

The minimum altitude you will stay overnight is 3550m high from sea level in high camp, it is not risky in term of high altitude sikness. However, you can extend your days and go slowly so you will be familiar with the altitude.

To do Mardi Himal Trek you don’t need expensive gear you can just pack simple trekking boot, jacket, psnt and other clotting items you should also carry sunscreen, Vaseline, and protein bar for energy.

 Yes, there are limited water sources along the trail where you can refill your water bottles. However, it is suggested to buy safe drinking water from teahouses or use water purification tablets to avoid the risk of waterborne diseases.

Although your final destination altitude is 4500m but for your own safety you should get travel insurance.
